Hello Friends!
I am sorry that i am so bad about updating this blog! time really just seems to get away from me, and with the internet only around in the evening i have not been spending a whole lot of time online.

Anyway, life continues here at the south pole. we have a 2 day weekend coming up, and i think all 43 of us are looking forward to it! Every single person here works hard everyday, 6 days a week so we all really enjoy our time off. Below is a picture of me while i was operating the hoist to bring all the food for 2 weeks up into the station. I think it was just around -78F with out the wind chill.

The hoist and all the other machinery like the loaders, will only work when its -80F or warmer out, and the past few days has been well below -80 which makes my job challenging! It got just warm enough on Wednesday morning (for about 2 hours) so myself and the other materials people pretty much dropped what we were doing so that we could use the hoist and the loaders. Always have to be ready for anything down here!

So its mostly dark out now, there is still some light on the horizon, and we have started to see more and more stars each day....and TODAY, at about 2:30pm we saw the first auroras! And for people who don't know these are the light displays that appear in the sky in the polar regions (both north and south). Down here they can be pretty amazing displays, and today was just the beginning! Hopefully i will get some nice pictures of them in the future.

That's all for now! hopefully more pictures to come soon!
